jaw pain through advanced techniques, providing comprehensive relief.

headaches to jaw pain, therapists will learn how to offer complete well-being from head to toe.

Learning Objectives

To peruse and digest the historical and current literature regarding myofascial pain.

To understand optimal musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology and the role of the sensory, motor and
autonomic nervous systems; and to differentiate sub-optimal function. -
To understand normal pain mechanisms; reception, transmission and modulation.

To understand the aberrant neurophysiology of peripheral and central sensitization.

To understand the contribution of myofascial trigger points to soft tissue pain and dysfunction.

To understand the biochemical environment of the trigger point.

To understand the various causes of myofascial trigger point formation.

To understand the various mechanisms that perpetuate myofascial trigger points.
-
To understand the position of primary or secondary trigger point involvement in many common conditions like osteoarthritis, low back pain and other regional pain syndromes.

To develop the highest standards of palpation, applicable to most soft tissue abnormalities.

To understand and perfect the detection and full de-activation of myofascial trigger points.

To use a variety of adjunct myofascial, heat, stretch, muscle play and movement therapies to reinforce the deactivation of these noxious points and return the client to full function.

To be able to prescribe appropriate Home Care Exercises (HCA) and other beneficial advice for permanent resolution of myofascial trigger points.
The price per class is $175, $300 for the weekend or register and prepay for all classes for $1500.
CLASS FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE - IF YOU SIGN UP AND THEN HAVE TO CANCEL FOR ANY REASON NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED HOWEVER, THE CREDIT WILL REMAIN ON YOUR ACCOUNT FOR YOU TO USE ON OTHER CLASSES AT A LATER DATE.
All classes will be held from 9 am – 5:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch break, unless otherwise noted.
